How does clouds form

Water evaporates from ponds, lakes, rivers and oceans into the atmosphere. This is in vapour form and called water vapour. The water vapour rises to higher altitudes. The air pressure at these altitudes are low. As a result the water vapour expands and cools.

Why does earth rotate

There are many theories prevelant among the scientific community about the origin of the earth and the earth's rotation. One of the theory suggests that solar system, initially was a rotating cloud of dust, rocks, and gases. This was a result of the Big Bang. As time passed by, small rocks, due to gravitaional pull, combined to become bigger bodies. Due to their different masses and velocity each of them started to orbit in their own path (orbit).

Why does ice float on water

Water molecules are formed when two atoms of hydrogen bond covalently with an atom of oxygen. Hence their molecular formula is H2O. Water is a polar molecule. The density of water is 1 gram/cubic cm. The density of ice is 0.931 gm/cubic cm. This difference in the densities of both is due to the fact that, the structure of bonding between hydrogen and oxygen is different.
